William Stewart owns Stewart and Company, a graphics design studio located on Capitol Street in beautiful downtown Charleston, WV. When he was 19, he had the opportunity to serve as assistant to Senator Steve Harrison (R-Kanawha). After 2 years with Harrison, he accepted the position of Executive Assistant to Senate Minority Leader Vic Sprouse and served there for 3 years.
While he was with Senator Sprouse he decided to expand williamstewart.org to discuss the issues in the legislature. He quickly established himself as the leading political blogger for West Virginia as over 30,000 West Virginians logging in each month.
As his site became more and more popular, the controversy grew. Senators who abused their position and were written about became very angry. At first they tried to get William fired, but they eventually gave up and resorted to cussing him out in person whenever possible.
Williamstewart.org is now a leading source for local political news and commentary in the state of West Virginia with over 45,000 unique visitors each month – the most of any West Virginia blog in its category.
Quoted by every major news network including the Associated Press, Charleston Gazette, Daily Mail, Parkersburg News Sentinel, Huntington News Network, Beckley Register-Herald, statewide talk show Talkline with Hoppy Kercheval, Charleston’s 58 Live and Huntington’s Tom Roten Morning Show.
Since leaving the Senate, Will has worked in gubernatorial and congressional campaigns across the United States.
A native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, William currently resides in Buffalo, West Virginia. No matter how much Senator Harrison insists, he will not call himself “Buffalo Will.”
