I would like to take this opportunity to give a heartfelt thanks to the New Jersey Supreme Court. As you may know the court has overturned hundreds of years of precedence to give special rights to people who hold unnatural affection for the same sex. While the liberals may see the change as progress, the rest of us – and polls prove, the majority of us – see same-sex marriage as a quantum leap in the wrong direction.
The question yet to be answered is if we destroy traditional, legal and religious precedent and allow gay marriage, where do we stop? Once the line is crossed, who is to say a court should not yield to the whims of the pervert of the week and permit the marriage of three men and two women or let people marry themselves or a minor or an animal? If gays have a right to marriage then so does every other deviant.
Now to the reason I’m mailing fruit baskets to all the New Jersey justices. The unwashed public knows that Republicans will protect marriage while the Democratic Party not only supports the destruction of traditional marriage at every turn, but also maintain their position in their party platform.
Not only that, the Republican base now has another very important reason to go to the polls. If maintaining the booming economy and continuing the fight on terror weren’t enough, conservative America can find a rallying point around this issue once again.
I’ll be the first to admit that the so-called “religious right” has been rebuffed by the lackluster attention the Bush administration has given to conservative issues. Couple that with bipartisan scandals in Congress and the pew-warmers have been discouraged benchwarmers in the political fight. Thanks to the New Jersey Supreme Court, the D. James Kennedys and Dr. James Dobsons of the country have a rallying cry. Already I have received several “red alert” emails by Christian conservative organizations. Now there is a bugger to fight and they will come together.
So once again, thank you dear New Jersey Supreme Court. Check your mailbox, the fruit basket’s on its way and I’m sure the happy thanks of conservative candidates will follow after the election.

William,
VERY good commentary! I think we now have our troops mobilized.
Let’s see if we can just get them out in WV. The latest research shows that if we can get 2/3 of Republicans out to the polls this year in just 20 counties Raese beats Byrd! Imagine what would happen to the legislative races in those same 20 counties if we get out 2/3 of the vote!
I think this issue will win the NJ senate seat for us, reinvigorate Allen in VA, and cause the last minute surge Santorum needs in PA!
Keep writing and fighting!
As demonstrated in the last two rounds of general elections (legislative & presidential), it’s only the media that seems to think that the conservative, “religious” right have become disenfranchised and are drifting. It’s the old ploy that if they say something long enough and frequent enough, maybe peopel will start to believe it even if it is not the truth. When the elections occur, I think you’ll see the power of the Republican conservative block again. Bring on the elections!
