Joe Manchin’s poster

Recent renovations to the Governor’s office (yes, the mansion isn’t the only place getting the royal treatment) uncovered a curious poster. I received this picture of a large poster tucked behind boxes in the hallway of the east wing.

While the picture is humorous, one wonders at the occasion to warrant such a thing. I hope you and I did not pay for a full-color, 3 by 5 foot poster or for state employees to assemble it on state time.

Were Governor Manchin not such an egotist, this would be non-story. Part of me believes he would put his visage on Mount Rushmore if he could, but there is one thing grossly inaccurate: I doubt he would allow the other presidents to remain.

I’m almost positive this was used in “3rd House” the skit by the local media poking fun at government to raise money for the Marshall University School of Journalism and Mass Communication

Yup, it’s from The Third House. The annual event raises money for Marshall’s Journalism School. FYI - The topic of the sketch was poking fun at the Governor’s widespread popularity with a new WV quarter with the Gov’s face and a revised Mount Rushmore.

Go Herd!

It was used in a Third House skit this year. Go WVU!

Actually, I think what he’ll do is use his influence to rename Marion County to “Manchin County” and have a huge “Joe” statue built right there in Fairmont near the Marion County CourtHouse.

The only problem with that Manchin poster is that it should have “two faces” on it.

Right on Bill: Go Herd
