Democrat Chairman Nick Casey fights against free speech

Democratic Party Chairman Nick Casey is crying foul over Jim Vickers’ exercise of free speech. Why should this man draw Casey’s ire in particular? He dares to publicly support Republican Congresswoman Shelley Moore Capito in her bid for reelection.

While Casey may claim it is an “improper endorsement” for the George Washington High School Principal to publicly come out in favor of Shelley in a television commercial, we know that is not the real reason. After all, when General Tackett was parading around in uniform with Senator Robert Byrd, flying him in the National Guard’s C-130s to campaign stops across the state, and publicly and very vocally supporting Byrd’s reelection bid, Casey was curiously silent. Even when Republicans raised questions about the unethical behavior, Casey came to his defense even though Tackett is in direct violation of D.O.D. Directive 1344.10.

Now Casey suddenly believes people should not be free to do what they want in their free time. When did Principal Vickers sell his soul to the Democrats? How does his public position preclude him from an opinion? Casey never says.

I hear the same argument as the Democrats fight against my blog. Instead of arguing against the dirty secrets I uncover on the Democrats legislators, they would rather try to shut me down with the bogus argument that I am a state employee and do not have the right to express an opinion whenever I am away from work. Each time I write an expose on the latest trick of the politicians, they either complain to Senator Sprouse (who adeptly ignores them) or complain to the Senate leadership. Of the handful of Senators I have written about, only one has ever had the chutzpah to confront me: and even then the Senator resorted to name calling and cursing until he was finally called off by other Senators.

Here’s a solution: if you don’t like what I write, don’t come back. In Jim Vicker’s case, if you don’t like what he says, change the channel when the commercial comes on. But instead of dealing with things like mature adults, the Democratics would rather whine and bully.

Nick Casey, the right to free speech is in the First Amendment for a reason. Learn to live with it.
