Don Surber has a great article about the Democrat’s plan to raise taxes: “but raising taxes does not balance the budget. Democrats failed to balance the budget when the marginal income tax rate was 90%. That meant that for every extra dollar a person earned, the federal government took 90 cents.”

But no matter if you were a mother of a slain fire fighter, the wife of a businessman who never returned home, the child of a soldier who spent his last day at the Pentagon, or just an American, it affected us all.

2006 election predictions for West Virginia

The candidates are in position at the starting line waiting for Labor Day when campaigning typically begins in earnest. BANG! And they’re off! From now until November 7th it will be a no holds barred struggle for your attention.

Of course, when it comes to Senator Byrd, this is where the running analogy ends. The two-caned Senator is so feeble he cannot maneuver to his desk to vote much less run in my hastily contrived allegory.

Things are bound to change between now and then, but I thought I would give my predictions on the chances of the federal and West Virginia state senatorial candidates.

Things will change for me very soon for several months. I have received an offer to work for Louisiana Congressman Bobby Jindal’s reelection campaign as director of a program called Student Project. Over 150 high school aged, conservative young people from across the country will be coming to New Orleans to help knock doors and pass out literature and I’m going to be their fearless leader.
