Back to school and 15 miles per hour

Aug28

I passed a friend today whose wife is a schoolteacher. “Is this her first day?” I asked. “Yep,” he replied rolling his eyes, “and it’s going to be a long night.” “She has stories already, huh?” He laughed and nodded, walking on.

Yes, today is the day dreaded by just about everyone except the parents of the midget miscreants. Busses full of children with enough sugar in their system to kill a horse clog roadways as impatient drivers try to make it to work without running over someone.

A new role for Marty Wright

Aug24

We met in my office in the capitol, shook hands and exchanged obligatory pleasantries. He sat down and said with a tone of exasperation frequent to most visitors to the capitol, “Man, I don’t know where I am in this building. I’m trying to count windows, but that isn’t working.”

Thus began my friendship with Marty Wright, the new legal counsel to the Senate Republicans.

Random thoughts for the week

Aug5

“Random thoughts” is where I loosen up a little bit and discuss some of the less serious things of the week.

This article covers the new West Virginia blogs popping up, Senator Sprouse’s blog, and the Patriots for Peace.

I haven’t done the random thoughts for the week in a coon’s age. Hold on, it’s going to be a long post. BTW, exactly how long is a coon’s age? I’m guessing 12 years.

Announcing Fire At Will

Aug3

Ever since I began this website, there has been controversy. I have been cussed out, threatened, cajoled, harassed, and smeared in public and private. Never one to take subtle hints, I have started a new way to expound on conservative issues and make liberals gnash their teeth through a show called “Fire At Will.”
