Roy Moore for Governor campaign
May30
I am currently out of town and working on the Roy Moore for Governor campaign. For those of you thinking, “Roy Moore, that sounds familiar,” it is not your imagination. He used to be Chief Justice Roy Moore of the Alabama Supreme Court until he was kicked out for displaying the Ten Commandments in the Supreme Court building and refusing to remove them.
Robert Byrd slanders John Raese
May23
Senator Robert C. Byrd got his campaign dirty already with a letter to the democratic faithful. In his “prebuttal” — a new trick of the democrats: attack your opponents for something they have not even done yet — Byrd slams Raese for something Byrd predicts Raese will do in the future while Byrd does the very thing he blames Raese for doing one day. Confused yet? I am too.
The Charleston Gazette says respect Al-Qaida
May20
For those of you wondering, I was out of town this week and was not able to put together an article — or a coherent one anyway.
It is a well-known fact that the Charleston Gazette is liberal. Throughout the years they have unabashedly promoted their opinion so zealously that far left papers like the New York Times or Los Angeles Times seem like “ditto-heads” in comparison. After years of bias, the Gazette now shares nothing in common with most West Virginians.
Thoughts on the West Virginia primary election
May10
The election was filled with many surprises. Maybe all of your predictions came true, but several of mine certainly did not.
John Raese: the ethical choice for Senator
May9
If you compare the policies of John Raese with those of his nearest rival, Hiram Lewis, they are not much different. Both believe in decreasing taxes and government spending, gun rights, immigration reform, and making our economy more business friendly.
From a conservative standpoint, both men would be a welcome change from Senator Robert Byrd. But when you compare their character, there is a distinct difference.
Random thoughts for the week
May5
“Random thoughts” is where I loosen up a little bit and discuss some of the less serious things of the week. In this article I write on my race for Republican State Executive Committee, Dave Higgins, Erik Wells, the Louisiana Senate, and something I read on a tanker truck.
To the West Virginia Patriots for Peace: grow up
May3
Governor Joe Manchin has apologized to the West Virginia Patriots for Peace (an extremist anti-war group) for writing, “Sending you to Hell from Almost Heaven” on a hellfire missile while visiting our troops in Iraq.
Ending high gas prices
May1
We all agree that gas prices are way too high but when it comes to the solution, there is a significant difference of opinion. The interesting thing is no exclusively republican or democrat solution has emerged; it is every man for himself as Congressional leaders pose before gas pumps and promise change.
To be honest, the remedies coming from Congress and the White House are bipartisanly asinine.
