A press released issued by our office this morning:

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Today at 9:00 a.m., Senator Vic Sprouse (R-Kanawha) will argue his position before the Supreme Court that the Governor has overreached his Constitutional bounds.

“I am pleased the Supreme Court has seen fit to hear our arguments and am confident in the strength of our position,” Sprouse said. “I simply want full debate on the sales tax issue – or any issue for that matter – without gags placed on the Legislative branch by the Executive branch.”

“The Governor and his spokesperson have claimed this is a frivolous lawsuit. I, however, trust the Supreme Court would not consider a frivolous lawsuit in their courtroom. If our claims were without merit, they would have dismissed it on the spot and we would not be appearing before them.”
