Democrats unwilling to protect West Virginia homeowners in resolution

Today the Senate Republicans tried to pass a resolution putting the Senate on record disagreeing with the Supreme Court’s decision in Kelo v. New London and promising to take the steps to correct it in the next Regular Legislative Session.

Here is the audio of the ensuing debate (mp3 - 13 minutes - 3.5mb).

Basically, the President ruled that the resolution was not germaine to the Governor’s call, the Republicans objected and asked for a vote on the Chair’s decision and the Democrats (and Senator Facemyer) upheld the Chair’s decision.
